Altos Las Hormigas - Malbec - 13.9%

Dark black cherries, a faint layer of raspberries and cream, hints of herbs and purple flowers. On the palate, red and black cherry are framed by rocky minerals and tart blackberry. Fresh, lifted.  There's a land of over-ripe, floppy Malbec - and then there's this! Bright, refined, elegant Malbec, ripened just to produce a balance between fruit + land, to showcase where it's from, not a fruit bomb. The Altos team are terroir "junkies" obsessed with the land and varying soils.
