Amaretti are delicious almond flavored crunchy cookies are made in Saronno, Italy. Legend states that Amaretti biscuits were created three centuries ago by two young lovers for the Cardinal of Milan. Made by slowly baking a blend of sugar, apricot kernels and egg whites, these crunchy round biscuits are decorated with sparkling white sugar and wrapped in colorful paper.

The “Chiostro di Saronno” is an ancient Franciscan cloister located in the centre of the town of Saronno.
